Description:

CircC16orf62 is up-regulated in HCC and promotes malignant phenotypes (proliferation, invasion/migration, and aerobic glycolysis) and tumor growth. Mechanistically, it localizes mainly in the cytoplasm and acts as a ceRNA by sponging miR-138-5p to increase PTK2, thereby activating the AKT/mTOR pathway. High expression is associated with worse prognosis in HCC.
