| Biological function: |
circ_0001649 inhibits NSCLC cell proliferation, migration, invasion, tumor growth and lung metastasis. |
| Molecular mechanism: |
circ_0001649 functions as a miRNA sponge for miR-331-3p and miR-338-5p, and its tumor-suppressive functions are partly dependent on regulation of these miRNAs. |

| Clinical significance: |
Downregulation of circ_0001649 is correlated with advanced TNM stage, positive lymph node metastasis and unfavorable prognosis; decreased circ_0001649 is an independent prognostic biomarker for NSCLC patients. |
| Description: |
circ_0001649 is a SHPRH-derived human circRNA downregulated in NSCLC tissues and cell lines. It acts as a tumor suppressor by inhibiting proliferation, migration, invasion, tumor growth and lung metastasis, partly through sponging miR-331-3p and miR-338-5p. Clinically, low circ_0001649 expression is associated with advanced TNM stage, lymph node metastasis and poorer overall survival. |
