| Expression pattern: |

| Associated gene: |
c-Myc, Bcl-2 |
| Associated microRNA: |

| Biological function: |
Promotes ALL cell proliferation and inhibits apoptosis; knockdown causes cell growth arrest and apoptosis. |
| Molecular mechanism: |
circPVT1 regulates c-Myc and Bcl-2 protein expression at the post-transcriptional level; the authors propose it may act as a miRNA sponge. |
| Biological pathway or process: |
proliferation (promotes); apoptosis (inhibits); ceRNA regulation (other) |

| Validation methods: |
Sanger Sequencing; RT-qPCR; Clinical Sample Validation; Transfection; CCK8; Annexin V/PI Flow Cytometry; Western Blot; Nuclear-Cytoplasmic Fractionation; ROC Analysis |
| Clinical significance: |
Potential therapeutic target in ALL; ROC analysis suggested circPVT1 may not be considered as a diagnostic marker in this cohort. |
| Description: |
circPVT1 is upregulated in acute lymphoblastic leukemia bone marrow samples and ALL cell lines. Functional knockdown experiments show that circPVT1 promotes ALL cell proliferation and suppresses apoptosis, at least partly through maintaining c-Myc and Bcl-2 protein expression. The study suggests circPVT1 has an oncogenic role and may represent a therapeutic target in ALL. |
