circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
UP
Associated gene: AFP, Ago2, exosomes
Associated microRNA: miR-1270
Biological function: promotes proliferation; promotes migration; promotes tumor growth; promotes metastasis; promotes malignant behaviors of surrounding normal cells
Molecular mechanism: Acts as a ceRNA by sponging miR-1270 to upregulate AFP; transferred via exosomes to recipient cells to mediate phenotypic changes
Biological pathway or process:

ceRNA regulation (promotes); proliferation (promotes); migration (promotes); metastasis (promotes)

Detected method:
Q
Validation methods:

RT-qPCR; RNase R Treatment; Sanger Sequencing; Nuclear-Cytoplasmic Fractionation; RIP (RNA Immunoprecipitation); Luciferase Reporter Assay; FISH / smFISH; Clinical Sample Validation; Transfection; CCK8; EdU Staining; Transwell Assay; Western Blot; In Vivo Animal Model; H&E Staining; IHC (Immunohistochemistry); Bioinformatics Analysis; Survival Analysis

Clinical significance:

Low expression of circRNA Cdr1as in the tumor tissues was associated with tumor diameter, serum alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) and tumor satellite.

Description:

CircRNA Cdr1as is up-regulated in HCC tissues and cell lines and promotes proliferation, migration, tumor growth and lung metastasis. It mainly localizes to the cytoplasm and functions as a ceRNA that sponges miR-1270 to increase AFP expression. Cdr1as is enriched in exosomes and can be transferred to recipient cells, enhancing proliferative and migratory phenotypes.

Confidence score:

0.8657
