circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
UP
Associated gene: BRCA1
Associated microRNA: miR-498
Biological function: Breast cancer biomarker with diagnostic potential; upregulated in breast cancer patients; regulates BRCA1 by binding to miR-498 through a ceRNA mechanism.
Molecular mechanism: circROBO1 regulated BRCA1 by binding to miR-498 through ceRNA mechanism.
Biological pathway or process:

ceRNA regulation (other)

Detected method:
Q
Validation methods:

RT-qPCR; Clinical Sample Validation; ROC Analysis; Bioinformatics Analysis

Clinical significance:

circROBO1 showed diagnostic potential for breast cancer detection; ROC analysis in PCR products from healthy donors and breast cancer patients showed AUC = 0.875.

Description:

This study established a CRISPR-Cas13a/Cas12a fluorescence system for sensitive detection of circROBO1 together with BRCA1 in breast cancer-related samples. circROBO1 was upregulated in breast cancer patients compared with healthy donors and showed diagnostic potential with an ROC AUC of 0.875. Mechanistically, the study reported a ceRNA relationship in which circROBO1 regulates BRCA1 by binding miR-498.

Confidence score:

0.459
