circArhgap26 is down-regulated in cardiac I/R injury and in plasma from PCI patients. It protects cardiomyocytes by binding PKP1 and disrupting PKP1-ZDHHC1 interaction, thereby reducing PKP1 palmitoylation/stability, lowering APAF1 translation, and inhibiting Caspase-9/Caspase-3-driven apoptosis. Its decreased circulating level suggests potential prognostic biomarker value. |
