circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:

Associated gene: -
Associated microRNA: -
Biological function: Potential diagnostic biomarker for EOC; lower plasma levels associated with adverse clinicopathologic features (higher grade, LNM, distant metastasis).
Molecular mechanism: Not established in this study.
Biological pathway or process:

not specified

Detected method:
Q
Validation methods:

RT-qPCR; Clinical Sample Validation; ROC Analysis

Clinical significance:

circBNC2 differentiates EOC from benign ovarian cyst and healthy controls with high ROC AUC; useful for early-stage EOC discrimination.

Description:

Plasma circBNC2 (hsa_circ_0008732, from host gene BNC2) is down-regulated in epithelial ovarian cancer and shows high diagnostic performance (ROC AUC ~0.88-0.92) versus benign ovarian cysts and healthy controls, including early-stage EOC. Lower circBNC2 levels are associated with more aggressive clinicopathologic features such as higher grade, lymph node metastasis, and distant metastasis.

Confidence score:

0.4187
