circLIFR-007 may serve as a new biomarker to evaluate the risk of recurrence and metastasis of breast cancer.
circLIFR-007 is a LIFR-derived circRNA that is down-regulated in breast cancer liver metastases and breast cancer cell lines. It suppresses breast cancer proliferation, migration, invasion, tumor growth, and liver metastasis by binding hnRNPA1, promoting hnRNPA1 nuclear export, increasing YAP phosphorylation, retaining YAP in the cytoplasm, and reducing YAP/TEAD-regulated liver metastasis-associated proteins SREBF1 and SNAI1. The study suggests circLIFR-007 may be a biomarker for evaluating breast cancer recurrence and metastasis risk.
