High circ-PRMT5 expression is associated with poor prognosis, shorter overall survival, larger tumor size, advanced TNM stage, poor differentiation, lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis in GC patients; it may serve as a prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target.

Description:

Circ-PRMT5 is up-regulated in gastric cancer tissues and cell lines and high expression predicts poor overall survival. Functionally, it promotes GC cell proliferation, colony formation, migration, invasion and EMT while inhibiting apoptosis. Mechanistically, circ-PRMT5 sponges miR-145 and miR-1304 to upregulate MYC, forming a circ-PRMT5/miR-145/miR-1304/MYC oncogenic axis.
