circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
UN
Associated gene: cFKBP8, DRD3, AMPK, mTOR, ULK1
Associated microRNA: -
Biological function: promotes stress susceptibility and depressive-like behaviors in CUMS mice; inhibits neuronal autophagy in PrL neurons
Molecular mechanism: circRNA-encoded protein (cFKBP8) down-regulates DRD3 expression, leading to suppression of DRD3 downstream AMPK/mTOR/ULK1 autophagy signaling
Biological pathway or process:

autophagy (inhibits); AMPK (inhibits); AMPK/mTOR (inhibits)

Detected method:
S
Validation methods:

RNA-seq; Bioinformatics Analysis; RT-qPCR; Western Blot; IF (Immunofluorescence); In Vivo Animal Model

Clinical significance:

This study may provide new targets and ideas for the diagnosis and treatment of MDD.

Description:

In a mouse CUMS model, circFKBP8(5S,6) promotes stress susceptibility via its encoded protein cFKBP8. Mechanistically, it reduces DRD3 expression and suppresses DRD3-associated AMPK/mTOR/ULK1 signaling, leading to decreased neuronal autophagy in the prelimbic cortex.

Confidence score:

0.4852

Other information
