Clinical significance:

Low expression of circFBXW7 was associated with poorer clinical outcomes; circFBXW7 was negatively correlated with tumor size and lymph node metastasis and was an independent prognostic factor for TNBC patients.

Description:

circFBXW7 is down-regulated in TNBC and functions as a tumor suppressor by inhibiting proliferation, migration, tumor growth and metastasis. Mechanistically, it sponges miR-197-3p to de-repress FBXW7 (ceRNA effect) and also encodes the FBXW7-185aa protein, which increases FBXW7 abundance and promotes c-Myc degradation. Clinically, low circFBXW7 is associated with poorer survival and adverse clinicopathologic features.
