HBV-circRNA-5 is a virus-encoded circRNA detected in HBV-positive HCC tissues/cells and mainly localized in the cytoplasm. It promotes HCC proliferation and metastatic phenotypes and enhances tumor growth in vivo, largely by sponging miR-9-3p to increase YAP/TAZ and activate Hippo/YAP output.
