Description:

In CNV/nAMD models, circ-MALAT1 is up-regulated and promotes pathological angiogenesis. It functions as a ceRNA that sponges miR-96-5p to increase FOXK2, thereby enhancing endothelial cell viability/proliferation, migration and tube formation and reducing apoptosis. circ-MALAT1 is also elevated in aqueous humor from nAMD patients, supporting potential translational relevance.
