circUBE2G1 is down-regulated in gastric cancer and acts as a tumor suppressor mainly through encoding the microprotein circUBE2G1-99aa. circUBE2G1-99aa binds ENO1, inhibits ENO1 enzymatic activity, suppresses glycolysis, and dampens PI3K/AKT signaling, thereby inhibiting proliferation and metastatic phenotypes in vitro and in vivo; low circUBE2G1 is linked to worse clinicopathological features and poorer survival.
