Description:

circNfix/circNFIX is upregulated in BPD (notably in males) and participates in a circRNA-miRNA-mRNA axis involving miR204-5p (and miR-211-5p) and Ntrk2/NTRK2. Silencing circNfix with a BSJ-targeting GapmeR reduces Ntrk2 protein and improves BPD-associated alveolar injury, with increased proliferation and angiogenesis/vasculogenesis in treated BPD male pups; the axis is also supported in human male infant BPD lung samples.
