Clinical significance:

The expression of circDDX21 showed a close association with the tumour grade, lymph node metastasis, and pathological stage of TNBC; low expression of circDDX21 indicated prolonged survival in TNBC patients.

Description:

circDDX21 is down-regulated in TNBC and suppresses malignant behaviors (proliferation, migration, invasion, EMT and metastasis). Mechanistically, it acts as a ceRNA that sponges miR-1264 to relieve repression of QKI, with downstream inhibition of p38 MAPK signaling.
