circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
DS
Associated gene: PDGFRA/B, MMP2, ZEB1/2, VEGFC, SNAI2, BAX, VHL, BAK1, FBXW5
Associated microRNA: miR-7-5p, miR-490-5p, miR-516b-5p, miR-619-5p, miR-1287-5p, miR-1290, miR-1299
Biological function: regulates tumor microenvironment; associated with immune and stromal cell infiltration; associated with angiogenesis and extracellular matrix organization
Molecular mechanism: bioinformatics analyses suggest CDR1as regulates TGF-beta signaling pathway and ECM-receptor interaction; ceRNA network where CDR1as serves as a sponge for multiple miRNAs to relieve silencing of key genes
Biological pathway or process:

TGF-beta/SMAD (promotes); angiogenesis (promotes); migration (promotes); invasion (promotes); metastasis (promotes); EMT (promotes); immune regulation (other); ceRNA regulation (other); other pathway/process (other)

Detected method:

Validation methods:

RNA-seq; Bioinformatics Analysis

Clinical significance:

Description:

This pan-cancer bioinformatics study reports that CDR1as is aberrantly expressed across human cancers and is higher in metastasis sites than primary sites. Enrichment and ceRNA-network analyses suggest CDR1as may modulate the tumor microenvironment by sponging multiple miRNAs (including miR-7-5p and miR-1299) and influencing genes involved in TGF-beta signaling and ECM-receptor interaction, which correlates with altered immune/stromal infiltration.
