This study identifies circCUL3 as an oncogenic circRNA in cervical cancer models. circCUL3 sponges miR-223-3p to increase ATG7 expression and activate autophagy, thereby promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, EMT and tumor growth while inhibiting apoptosis. The autophagy inhibitor chloroquine partially counteracts circCUL3-driven oncogenic effects.
