Description:

cMTO1 is down-regulated in cirrhotic/fibrotic liver and activated HSCs, and its restoration suppresses HSC proliferation and activation markers. Mechanistically, cMTO1 sponges miR-181b-5p in the cytoplasm to relieve repression of PTEN, thereby inhibiting fibrotic activation (via the PTEN-related PI3K/Akt context).
