Description:

circPVT1 is up-regulated in the left ventricle of ischemic heart failure patients and increases in fibrotic conditions (TGF-beta1-stimulated human cardiac fibroblasts). Functionally, circPVT1 promotes cardiac fibroblast activation and pro-fibrotic marker expression, at least partly by binding miR-30a-5p and miR-125b-5p and modulating miRNA target-gene repression and TGF-beta/SMAD signaling.
