Description:

circPRDM5 is up-regulated in PD patient blood and in toxin-induced PD models. It mainly localizes to the cytoplasm and acts as a miRNA sponge for miR-433-3p, thereby increasing HDAC6 expression and promoting neuronal injury with increased apoptosis and autophagy; circPRDM5 knockdown is protective in SH-SY5Y cells and MPTP mice.
