| Biological function: |
Promotes proliferation, invasion, and migration; inhibits apoptosis; promotes tumor growth in vivo. |
| Molecular mechanism: |
METTL3-mediated m6A methylation increases circCEACAM5; circCEACAM5 binds DKC1 and increases DKC1 expression to drive malignant phenotypes. |
| Biological pathway or process: |
proliferation (promotes); migration (promotes); invasion (promotes); apoptosis (inhibits); m6A modification (other); other pathway/process (promotes) |

| Clinical significance: |
High circCEACAM5 levels are associated with poor clinicopathological features and poor clinical outcomes in pancreatic cancer. |
| Description: |
circCEACAM5 is up-regulated in pancreatic cancer tissues/cell lines and promotes proliferation, migration, invasion and tumor growth while inhibiting apoptosis. Mechanistically, METTL3 installs m6A on circCEACAM5 to increase its level, and circCEACAM5 binds the RBP DKC1 to elevate DKC1 expression, contributing to malignant progression and poor clinical outcomes. |
