circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
UP
Associated gene: ETS1, P21, Bcl-2, MMP9
Associated microRNA: miR-195-5p
Biological function: Circ-PVT1 promotes gastric cancer cell viability, proliferation and invasion, inhibits apoptosis, reverses the anti-GC effects of propofol, and its knockdown improves the anti-GC effect of propofol in vivo.
Molecular mechanism: Circ-PVT1 acts as a miR-195-5p sponge to modulate ETS1 expression; propofol suppresses ETS1 in GC cells through the circ-PVT1/miR-195-5p axis.
Biological pathway or process:

ceRNA regulation (promotes); proliferation (promotes); invasion (promotes); apoptosis (inhibits); drug resistance (other)

Detected method:
Q
Validation methods:

RT-qPCR; Clinical Sample Validation; Transfection; MTT; Annexin V/PI Flow Cytometry; Transwell Assay; Western Blot; Bioinformatics Analysis; Luciferase Reporter Assay; In Vivo Animal Model

Clinical significance:

-

Description:

Circ-PVT1 is upregulated in gastric cancer tissues and cell lines. Functionally, circ-PVT1 counteracts propofol-induced suppression of proliferation and invasion and induction of apoptosis, while circ-PVT1 knockdown enhances the anti-tumor effect of propofol in vivo. Mechanistically, circ-PVT1 sponges miR-195-5p to modulate ETS1 expression in the circ-PVT1/miR-195-5p/ETS1 axis.
