| Associated gene: |
hnRNPA2B1, m6A, EIF4A3, PHF8 |
| Associated microRNA: |
miR-150-5p |
| Biological function: |
Inhibits colorectal cancer cell proliferation, migration and invasion; suppresses PHF8 expression via binding to EIF4A3. |
| Molecular mechanism: |
hnRNPA2B1 increases m6A modification on circCDYL and decreases circCDYL expression; reduced circCDYL weakens its binding to EIF4A3, increasing EIF4A3 association with PHF8 mRNA and enhancing PHF8 expression. |
| Biological pathway or process: |
proliferation (inhibits); migration (inhibits); invasion (inhibits); m6A modification (other) |

| Description: |
In CRC cell lines, circCDYL is down-regulated and functions as a tumor suppressor by inhibiting proliferation, migration, and invasion. Mechanistically, hnRNPA2B1-dependent m6A modification decreases circCDYL, weakening circCDYL binding to EIF4A3 and thereby increasing PHF8 expression to promote CRC progression. |
