Circ-CTNNB1 was associated with unfavorable outcomes in patients with cancer, and high circ-CTNNB1 expression was associated with poor overall survival of gastric cancer patients.
Circ-CTNNB1 is a human CTNNB1-derived intronic circRNA that is upregulated in multiple cancer tissues and cell lines and predicts poor overall survival in gastric cancer. It predominantly localizes in the nucleus, binds DDX3, promotes DDX3-YY1 interaction and YY1 transactivation, increases Wnt/b-catenin-related target gene expression, and drives cancer growth, invasion, metastasis, angiogenesis, and aggressiveness.
