This circGSK3beta exon 10-to-9 isoform is down-regulated at AD synapses and, when overexpressed in neuron-differentiated SH-Sy5y cells, decreases phospho-tau (more strongly than the exon 9-to-7 isoform) and reduces total GSK3beta and phospho-S9 GSK3beta, supporting a role in modulating tau phosphorylation-related AD pathology.
