Description:

circMAP3K5 (circ_0007798) is down-regulated in acute pancreatitis blood samples and in a cerulein-induced acinar cell model. Functional assays indicate circMAP3K5 suppresses inflammatory cytokine release (IL-1beta, IL-6, TNF-alpha), and bioinformatics suggests a potential ceRNA network involving miR-148a-3p/miR-148b-3p/miR-199a-5p/miR-199b-5p and downstream mRNAs. Clinically, its expression level correlates with and may help grade AP severity.
