circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
UP
Associated gene: ERBB2, MKI67, PCNA, TP53, HER2
Associated microRNA: -
Biological function: inhibits proliferation (tumor suppressor) in BLCA
Molecular mechanism: Knockdown of circPVT1 increases ERBB2/MKI67/PCNA and decreases TP53, promoting proliferation; direct targets not evaluated.
Biological pathway or process:

proliferation (inhibits)

Detected method:
Q
Validation methods:

RT-qPCR; RNase R Treatment; Clinical Sample Validation; Cohort Study; Survival Analysis; ROC Analysis; Transfection; CCK8; Colony Formation Assay; In Vivo Animal Model

Clinical significance:

High circPVT1 expression was associated with better survival and circPVT1 was an independent prognostic factor for OS in BLCA; potential diagnostic biomarker (AUC=0.93).

Description:

circPVT1 is up-regulated in BLCA and functions as a tumor suppressor by inhibiting proliferation; its knockdown promotes tumor cell growth in vitro and xenograft growth in vivo. Clinically, high circPVT1 expression predicts better overall survival and may aid diagnosis (high AUC), and it is an independent prognostic factor.

Confidence score:

0.7295
