circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
UP
Associated gene: miR-186 gene
Associated microRNA: miR-186
Biological function: circSEPT9 promotes endometrial cancer cell invasion and migration and suppresses the inhibitory effect of miR-186 on these cell behaviors.
Molecular mechanism: circSEPT9 downregulates miR-186 by increasing methylation of the miR-186 gene.
Biological pathway or process:

migration (promotes); invasion (promotes); other pathway/process (promotes)

Detected method:
Q
S
Validation methods:

RT-qPCR; Clinical Sample Validation; MSP (Methylation-Specific PCR); Transfection; Transwell Assay

Clinical significance:

-

Description:

circSEPT9 is upregulated in endometrial cancer tissues and functions as a pro-metastatic circRNA in EC cell models. Mechanistically, circSEPT9 acts upstream of miR-186, increasing methylation of the miR-186 gene and reducing miR-186 expression, thereby promoting EC cell invasion and migration.

Confidence score:

0.5812
