Description:

circPDE5A is down-regulated in ESCC and acts as a tumor suppressor by inhibiting proliferation, metastasis and EMT. It functions mainly by encoding the peptide PDE5A-500aa, which stabilizes PIK3IP1 via USP14-mediated de-ubiquitination (K48 chain, K198) and thereby suppresses PI3K/AKT signaling. Low circPDE5A is associated with advanced stage and worse prognosis in ESCC patients.
