circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
UP
Associated gene: PI3K/Akt pathway
Associated microRNA: -
Biological function: circ_0007503 promotes breast carcinogenesis-associated phenotypes and reduces the anti-cancer effects of eriodictyol; blocking eriodictyol-induced downregulation of circ_0007503 reduces eriodictyol cytotoxicity, apoptosis induction, and PI3K/Akt pathway suppression in breast cancer cells.
Molecular mechanism: Eriodictyol targets and downregulates circ_0007503, thereby repressing PI3K/Akt signaling; circ_0007503 overexpression counteracts eriodictyol-mediated cytotoxicity and PI3K/Akt pathway suppression.
Biological pathway or process:

PI3K/AKT (promotes); proliferation (promotes); apoptosis (inhibits); other pathway/process (promotes)

Detected method:
Q
Validation methods:

RT-qPCR; Transfection; MTT; Annexin V/PI Flow Cytometry; Western Blot; In Vivo Animal Model; H&E Staining

Clinical significance:

Description:

circ_0007503 is up-regulated during breast carcinogenesis and is downregulated by eriodictyol in breast cancer cells, carcinogen-transformed MCF10A cells, and rat mammary tumors. Functional rescue by circ_0007503 overexpression reduces eriodictyol-induced cytotoxicity and weakens repression of the PI3K/Akt pathway, suggesting that circ_0007503 supports breast carcinogenesis-associated signaling and modulates eriodictyol response.

Confidence score:

0.4236
