circNINL is up-regulated in lung cancer tissues and cell lines and promotes malignant phenotypes (proliferation, migration, invasion) and aerobic glycolysis while suppressing apoptosis. Mechanistically, circNINL functions as a ceRNA that sponges miR-3918 to de-repress FGFR1, and circNINL knockdown suppresses tumor growth in a nude mouse xenograft model. High circNINL expression is associated with poor overall survival and shows diagnostic potential in LC patients. |
