circHIPK2 is up-regulated in IBD and CRC. It promotes intestinal epithelial/CRC cell growth by recruiting EIF4A3 (with FUS supporting circHIPK2 biogenesis) to enhance TAZ translation, thereby activating Hippo/YAP/TAZ downstream targets such as CCN1 and CCN2; circHipk2 knockdown worsens DSS colitis but reduces colitis-associated tumorigenesis.
