Description:

circHIAT1 is down-regulated in ccRCC and is further lower in metastatic disease. AR represses circHIAT1 by transcriptionally regulating the HIAT1 host gene, and reduced circHIAT1 destabilizes miR-195-5p/miR-29a-3p/miR-29c-3p, increasing CDC42 signaling to promote migration, invasion and metastasis. Higher circHIAT1 expression is associated with better overall survival, supporting its role as a metastasis suppressor and potential biomarker/therapeutic target.
