Biological function: promotes atherosclerosis progression and plaque formation; promotes cell proliferation and migration; inhibits apoptosis
Molecular mechanism: circZBTB46 physically interacts with hnRNPA2B1 and inhibits its ubiquitination-mediated proteasomal degradation, and modulates the PTEN/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway
Biological pathway or process:

AKT/mTOR (promotes); PI3K/AKT/mTOR (promotes); proliferation (promotes); migration (promotes); apoptosis (inhibits); ubiquitination (inhibits)

Clinical significance:

circZBTB46 has the potential to be a diagnostic biomarker for CAD

Description:

circZBTB46 is up-regulated in human atherosclerotic plaques/CAD contexts and promotes plaque progression. Functionally, circZBTB46 supports endothelial and smooth muscle cell proliferation and migration while suppressing apoptosis. Mechanistically, it binds hnRNPA2B1 to reduce its ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation and modulates the PTEN/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway.

Confidence score:

0.811

Other information
Title:
