Description:

circLRBA is an LRBA-derived circRNA that is down-regulated in cirrhotic liver tissues but up-regulated during liver regeneration after partial hepatectomy. It promotes cirrhotic liver regeneration by acting as a scaffold for RNF123 and p27, facilitating ubiquitination-dependent p27 degradation and thereby enhancing cell-cycle progression, hepatocyte proliferation, liver metabolism and inflammatory resistance. Clinically, higher baseline circLRBA levels in non-tumorous liver tissue are associated with lower perioperative total bilirubin levels.
