| Clinical significance: |
circVAPA is upregulated in breast cancer tissues and lymph node positive tissues and may serve as a novel prognostic marker for BCa |
| Description: |
circVAPA (hsa circ 0006990) is an up-regulated VAPA-derived circular RNA in breast cancer tissues, lymph node positive tissues, and aggressive MDA-MB-231 cells. It promotes breast cancer cell proliferation, migration and invasion in vitro, primarily through cytoplasmic miR-130a-5p sponging rather than regulation of its parental gene VAPA. The study suggests circVAPA may be associated with metastatic behavior and may have prognostic biomarker potential in breast cancer. |
