Functional experiments in HTR-8/SVneo trophoblast cells indicate that circHIPK3 supports migration, invasion, proliferation, and tube formation, suggesting that reduced circHIPK3 may contribute to abnormal trophoblast behavior and preeclampsia pathogenesis. The molecular mechanism was not defined.
