Biological function: May play a role in CRC development, invasion, and metastasis; proposed as a blood-based diagnostic biomarker for CRC and colorectal polyps.
Molecular mechanism: ceRNA network (circ-CCDC66-miRNA-mRNA) predicted/constructed by bioinformatics; correlation analysis between circ-CCDC66 and network nodes.
Biological pathway or process:

Wnt/beta-catenin (other); Hippo/YAP (other); proliferation (other); metastasis (other); apoptosis (other); ceRNA regulation (other); immune regulation (other); other pathway/process (other)

Detected method:
Q
M
Validation methods:

Microarray; RT-qPCR; Clinical Sample Validation; ROC Analysis; Bioinformatics Analysis

Clinical significance:

Plasma circ-CCDC66 shows high diagnostic accuracy for CRC (AUC 0.920) and improves diagnostic efficacy when combined with CEA and CA19-9; plasma circ-CCDC66 levels are positively correlated with lymph node metastasis, nerve invasion, tumor size, and TNM staging.

Description:

Plasma circ-CCDC66 is up-regulated in colorectal polyps and colorectal cancer and shows strong diagnostic performance (AUC 0.920), further improved when combined with CEA and CA19-9. Bioinformatics analyses construct a circ-CCDC66-miRNA-mRNA (ceRNA) network suggesting potential involvement in CRC-related pathways and processes.

Confidence score:

0.5047
