circSETD2 is down-regulated in breast cancer tissues/cells and acts as a tumor suppressor by inhibiting proliferation, migration, invasion and EMT. It binds the RBP HuR and competitively disrupts HuR-mediated stabilization of YAP1 mRNA, reducing YAP1 and downstream targets (e.g., CTGF, myc, SOX2, Slug), thereby suppressing breast cancer progression.
