circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:

Associated gene: -
Associated microRNA: -
Biological function: Serum CircERBB2 is highly expressed in NSCLC patients and is associated with disease progression, larger tumor diameter, lymph node metastasis, advanced TNM stage, diagnostic value, and poor prognosis.
Molecular mechanism: The mechanism of CircERBB2 in NSCLC was not explored; the study focused on serum expression, diagnostic performance, clinicopathological correlations, and prognostic association.
Biological pathway or process:

metastasis (promotes); other pathway/process (promotes)

Detected method:
Q
Validation methods:

RT-qPCR; Clinical Sample Validation; Cohort Study; Survival Analysis; ROC Analysis

Clinical significance:

Serum CircERBB2 has diagnostic value for NSCLC, its combined detection with CEA improves diagnostic performance, and high serum CircERBB2 expression is associated with poor prognosis.

Description:

CircERBB2 was measured in serum from NSCLC patients, benign lung disease patients, and healthy controls, and was found to be highly expressed in NSCLC. Higher serum CircERBB2 was associated with tumor diameter, lymph node metastasis, TNM stage, increased death-group levels, worse 36-month survival, and good diagnostic performance, especially when combined with CEA. The study did not investigate a molecular mechanism for CircERBB2 in NSCLC.

Confidence score:

0.4992
