In oesophageal cancer, hsa_circ_0006646 (from host gene BACH1) is predicted to be upregulated and promoted by QKI-regulated alternative splicing. It may act as a ceRNA by binding multiple miRNAs, thereby de-repressing EMT-related genes (IL11, MFAP2, MMP10, MMP1) and promoting EMT.
