| Clinical significance: |
exosomal circ_0001818 has potential diagnostic value in septic AKI; AUC of circ_0001818 in sepsis exosomes was 0.792 |
| Description: |
circ_0001818 is up-regulated in LPS-treated HK2 septic AKI cell models and in serum-derived exosomes from sepsis/septic AKI patients. Functionally, circ_0001818 promotes LPS-induced renal tubular epithelial cell injury, including cell death, oxidative stress, inflammatory cytokine secretion and NLRP3 inflammasome activation, by sponging miR-136-5p and increasing TXNIP expression. Exosomal circ_0001818 also shows diagnostic biomarker potential for septic AKI. |
